Innovation Essentials – a first step to increase impact and stay relevant in a changing context 

This course provides the participants with ‘the essentials’ of innovation seen from the perspective of the theory ‘design thinking’, and it is intended for CSOs interested in exploring the field of innovation, as well as those CSOs that are currently in the initial stages of working with innovation. The course has been developed in cooperation with BOND UK that have experience in working with innovation within the CSO sector and delivering training sessions that have been tailor-made for CSOs.


The course participants will get hands-on experiences with innovation tools through exercises that will challenge the participants on how to adopt and use innovation. It is the design and innovation consultant, Andy Young, who will be responsible for facilitating the session. The session will be dynamic and there will be room for feedback and discussion of key issues relating to innovation with Andy Young throughout the day, as well as exchange of experience and ideas with fellow participants. 


What is Innovation Essentials?

The course provides a human-centered approach to design thinking by placing the intended users at the centre of the problem-solving equation. The aim of the session is to have the participants gain insight to the fundamental steps in the process of designing solutions and equip the participants with tools of innovation to bring back to their organizations.

Who is it for?

The course is intended for Global Focus members organisations who are interested in acquiring a new set of tools to pursue work on innovation and it will be of interest to those who want to participate in an interactive learning environment with a focus on innovation. During the course, the participants will gain confidence in working with innovation through practical exercises, which will potentially generate new ideas and terminology to bring back to their organizations.

The course is intended for those who seek an accessible method to work with innovation in a structured manner.


When and where?

Date: April 19, 2018 - full day 08.30-16.00.

Participant fee: 1500 DKK for members of Global Focus. For non-members: 2500 DKK. 

Registration: We suggest the participation of two members from each organisation in order to increase the transfer of new knowledge to the organisation. The course is for CSOs working with international development and humanitarian work. Your registration is confirmed when you receive a confirmation by email and the invoice is paid (will be sent by email).
