The education group's overall purpose is to share, convey and learn from each other's professional experiences with education and development, as well as contribute to global strategy and policy work, and together relate to, monitor and influence Danish development aid in relation to education and SDG4: 'Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all' is fulfilled including education in crises.
The education group is the Danish part of the Education for All movement and is therefore a member of the Global Campaign for Education (GCE), and for the last 5-6 years has had a representative, who was elected by the Europeans, on the GCE board.
The group meets regularly approximately six times a year at Oxfam IBIS, which is the host organisation, and all are welcome. Every quarter, the education group publishes a newsletter that describes internal activities in the network as well as general news and policy updates in the field of education both nationally and internationally.
The educational group also collaborates with other Danish NGO networks, Danida, UNESCO, researchers and consultants.
