What we do

We work for a strong, influential, and visionary civil society. We unite members, partners, networks, and alliances into strong communities because a united, diverse, and solidarity-driven civil society is a key driver of sustainable global change. 

We work to influence and contribute to Danish development cooperation so that it is sustainable, rights-based, and long-term. We advocate for civil society to be equal and active partners in Danish development policy. 

Through advocacy, collaboration, alliance-building, and knowledge sharing, we work to promote sustainability, strengthen rights, and challenge power structures.

The strength of Global Focus lies in the solidarity-based community we represent and in the expertise and engagement of our members.   

We engage members through different communities of practice, networks, and national and international initiatives. Together, we identify shared positions, opportunities, and actions, and we strengthen each other’s work through knowledge exchange and learning.   

Global Focus manages funding mechanisms that support a resilient, relevant, and knowledgeable civil society. We currently run two funds that protect and promote fundamental rights and civic space, and strengthen learning, capacity, and innovation among members and partners.

The fight for global justice requires a united, strong, and diverse civil society that drives change critically and constructively.   

All Danish associations and organisations working with development, environment, or humanitarian action can become members of Global Focus.
