The Network for Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding (NCPPB) brings together Danish organisations and individuals committed to strengthening conflict prevention and peacebuilding in development and humanitarian work. We work to enhance the capacity and prioritisation of Danish civil society organisations (CSOs) and other relevant actors to integrate conflict prevention and peacebuilding in their programmes and organisational practices.
- Building Capacity for Better Practice
The Network contributes to improving how Danish CSOs approach their peacebuilding work - including how any knowledge, tools, and methods developed in Denmark are shared with international offices and partners. The aim is to ensure stronger organisational focus, more robust project design, and better implementation, monitoring and evaluation across conflict prevention and peacebuilding activities in the Global Majority. - A Community of Practice
The Network serves as a community of practice that fosters knowledge generation and knowledge sharing on conflict prevention and peacebuilding. We promote improved conflict transformation approaches and more conflict-sensitive interventions, such as “Do No Harm” across different sectors. - Collaboration and Collective Action
The Network provides a platform for strengthening synergies among member organisations – both in Denmark and through exploring opportunities for joint or collective programming in conflict-affected areas. - Strengthening Policy and Advocacy
The Network works to advance understanding and uptake of effective conflict prevention and peacebuilding within Danish civil society, the broader public, the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, other public authorities, donors, multilateral institutions, and other stakeholders. When aligned on shared positions, members may coordinate joint advocacy in accordance with Network-approved procedures. - Who We Are
The Network began as a working group under Global Focus, initiated by Council for International Conflict Resolution RIKO, Oxfam, Care Denmark, and the Danish Refugee Council. As of January 2026, members include ADRA Danmark, Conducive Space for Peace, DanChurchAid, Danmission, and Danish Refugee Council, Oxfam Denmark, as well as a number of interested individuals.
The Network is governed by a Coordination Group, whose members are elected by the General Assembly for two-year terms. In 2026, the Coordination Group consisted of DanChurchAid, the Danish Refugee Council, Oxfam Denmark, Danmission, ADRA Denmark, and Conducive Space for Peace.
Our work is guided by the Network Charter 2026. The Network meets regularly, and all meetings are conducted in English.
