The first year of Denmark’s term has been marked by a Security Council struggling with internal division, as Denmark sought to promote international rule of law and to continue to advance key political and humanitarian agendas, under severe strain.
DanChurchAid, the Danish Red Cross and the Danish UN Association welcome you to join us for an in-person event where we will hear from Louise Riis Andersen of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Holger Nielsen, Mogens Lykketoft, Danish Parliamentarians, Sudanese Civil Society Leaders, and International Experts including Richard Gowan of the International Crisis Group, and Emanuela Gillard of Chatham House and Oxford. Jonas will open the event.
The speakers will reflect on how Denmark has used its seat on the UN Security Council over the last year, including beyond Resolution negotiations, and will provide an overview of Council dynamics and discuss why the continued promotion of international law is paramount.
The event will take place at 2pm on 20th January at DCA's Office on Meldahlsgade 3, 1613 København.
Please RSVP to this event by following this link, by the 15 January, also indicating whether you might require Danish-English translation.
