In the context of escalating ecological crises and shrinking democratic space worldwide, COP30 will be a crucial opportunity to heighten global climate ambitions and reaffirm commitments to an inclusive and just green transition. As holder of the EU Presidency, Denmark has a unique chance to champion a democratic approach to global climate action – an imperative for continued high ambition and effective, lasting solutions.
This one-day conference will bring together green stakeholders from across society and countries – civil society, indigenous peoples, trade union and business representatives, policymakers, and researchers. It will be a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of global climate democracy and climate action, and how we can make COP30 a platform for consolidating and strengthening its foundation, framework, and future.
The conference explores three work streams, each combining a panel and an interactive session giving all participants an opportunity to exchange ideas and build a vision for how democratic principles can drive ambitious and just climate action towards COP30.
