Objective
The course is an introductory-level course designed for organizations that are planning to apply for funds from the European Commission (DG DEVCO) for development projects. Most often, DEVCO runs two-staged processes in which only the best concept notes are selected for full proposal development. Therefore the course will focus on the aspects of writing a good concept note.
We will briefly introduce the European Commission's main funding instruments, explain how concept notes are evaluated, and review what constitutes a strong proposal (narrative, logframe and budget). In the context of developing a full proposal, we will introduce main issues of compliance in the management of a DEVCO grant.
To the extent possible, participants will be requested to share in advance their own concept notes (organizational name to be redacted) so that the course can include practical exercises. More information regarding this will be send out prior to the course.
Target group
Programme and finance staff responsible for designing projects and developing proposals for DEVCO funding. The training will be conducted in English by Leila Badir Truelsen, Senior Donor Strategist, Save the Children. Please note that this is an introductory-level course.
