The course is an introductory-level course designed for organizations that are planning to apply for funds from the European Commission (EuropeAid) for development projects. Most often, EuropeAid runs two-staged processes in which only the best concept notes are selected for full proposal development. Therefore the course will focus on the aspects of writing a good concept note.
We will introduce the main funding instruments within EuropeAid, explain how concept notes are evaluated, and briefly review what constitutes a strong proposal (narrative, logframe and budget). In the context of developing a full proposal, we will introduce main issues of compliance in the management of a EuropeAid grant. To the extent possible, participants will be requested to share in advance their own concept notes (organizational name to be redacted) so that the course can include practical exercises. More information regarding this will be send out prior to the course.
