Debate & Food - How are refugee children affected by migration?
Onsdag 09 Oktober 2019, 16:30 - 20:00

We always hear the adages ‘we are all one’ and ‘we are all part of one race, the human race’, but when do these common expressions become completely empty and systematic dehumanization begin?

At this edition of Mad & Debat, we will start by asking a very big and broad question, what is a legal person? What does it mean for one’s very existence to be invalidated and then criminalized? At what point do imperfect laws supersede humanity as a whole?

17:00: Debate/Discussion

18:00: Organic & Vegetarian Fællesspisning

18:30: Film Screening

20:30: Thanks for a great night!

This evening, Globalhagen Kitchen will host "Debat & Mad" in English. An evening in collaboration with Copenhagen Underground, a volunteer-run nonprofit collective dedicated to creating donation based DIY film and music events— all of whose proceeds go to support human rights initiatives.

Together we will think deeper and ask more questions about labels and realities that we accept in our daily conversations and media, while simultaneously addressing those who are most vulnerable and affected greatest by this— children growing up while seeking asylum.

After having developed some thoughts on this, we will have organic and vegetarian dinner at 18:00 and watch the movie "Under the same moon" to see Carlitos, a Mexican child that illegally crosses the border to the US to join his mother who wanted to create a better life for the two. We're excited to welcome you, let it be for discussing the scenario, fællesspisning or the movie!
